Jonathan Penberthy brings over 20 years of experience as a software engineer to his role as Cosmic Shutter Seeker and Star Programmer at Park Cameras. His career has taken him across industries from airport engineering to banking, but a desire for a better work-life balance led him to join the Park Cameras team three years ago.

Initially focused solely on software development, Jonathan’s journey into photography began while developing a lens selection web app. What started as a technical challenge evolved into a passion for astrophotography. Armed with a second-hand Canon 7D and tripod, Jonathan began capturing the night sky, and his kit and expertise has steadily grown ever since.

When he’s not writing code or photographing the cosmos, Jonathan can often be found sailing, combining his love of the sea with a fascination for the stars. His hands-on approach to learning and his knack for blending technical precision with creative exploration make him an inspiring voice for those delving into astrophotography.
