Wandrd PRVKE V4 Backpacks Compared

With a fun, approachable personality and a passion for travel and photography, Wandrd gear is made to be durable, so it can go wherever you do, while still being super stylish and practical.

Not sure Which Wandrd PRVKE V4 Backpack to Choose? This guide will help you by comparing the range and highlighting what’s new, to help you decide, which Wandrd PRVKE backpack is perfect for your needs.

The award-winning camera backpack range has been a favourite among photographers and content creators for some years, thanks to a durable build, great features and modular design. For 2025, the fourth-generation V4 PRVKE series has been updated across the board, with improvements to access, comfort and storage, as well as adding new colours and an updated exterior design.

For the first time the PRVKE bag range includes an Everyday Carry (EDC) line, which is for times when you don’t need to bring any camera gear but still want the versatility of a PRVKE bag. All of models in the main PRVKE lineup are modular and compatible with Wandrd camera cubes (sold separately or included in photo bundles), except for the smaller 15L version.

Let’s begin by finding out what’s new for V4.

Getting an impression of bag sizing

What’s new in the Wandrd PRVKE V4 for 2025?

The Wandrd PRVKE is a popular camera bag for an award-winning combination of style, durability and modularity. Now in its fourth generation, the PRVKE V4 has updates based directly on customer feedback. Wandrd’s aim for the 2025 model is to improve comfort, make access to gear quicker, and enhance styling.

As Wandrd’s most popular backpack, the PRVKE’s big party trick is the ability to be a double act, both as a camera-ready pack or as a minimalist everyday bag, depending on how you configure it with cubes and organisers. Below is a list of what’s new and improved in V4.

Key V4 PRVKE updates

  • New colours replacing Uyuni Purple and Dallol Yellow with Atacama Clay and Rhone Burgundy available in 15L, 21L and 31L sizes
  • Colour-matched interiors now make it easier to see your gear, with a soft grey interior in the Black version
  • Improved shoulder strap padding and back panel airflow for better long-term comfort and breathability
  • Wider quick-draw side access makes it easier to grab your camera in a hurry
  • New zipped access to the roll-top so you can reach gear without unrolling
  • Redesigned internal organisation with increased padding in panel pockets
  • Updated magnetic tote handles and a refined weatherproof YKK zip
  • Colour-matched shoulder straps and roll-top across all colours
  • Updated branding and detailing for an updated finish

These changes are featured on the 21L, 31L and 41L versions, making it easier than ever to find a size that works for your gear and lifestyle. In the next section, we compare all three to help you decide which modular Wandrd PRVKE backpack is right for your needs.

Wandrd PRVKE 21

The 21L bag is compact and ideal for creators who want to pack light while still carrying a dedicated camera setup at sometime. It fits either an Essential or Pro cube, giving space for a mirrorless kit and a few extras. The lighter weight and lower profile also make it better for commutes without lots to carry.

Best for: Creators with minimal gear, hybrid workers, weekend city trips

Example use case: Alex enjoys street photography, and cycles to work. He uses the PRVKE 21L with an Essential Cube to hold a mirrorless camera, one lens, lunch and a jacket, with slightly more space when the rolltop is extended.

Wandrd PRVKE 31

This bag sits right in the middle, and the 31L is arguably the most versatile for photo and video creators. It balances capacity and portability, which is perfect for casual photography, dedicated shoots, and full-days of travel with your gear. The PRVKE 31 fits either an Essential Plus or Pro Plus Cube, and opens up to around 36L when unrolled.

Best for: Freelancers, hybrid shooters, larger kit requirements

Wandrd PRVKE 41

The 41L is the largest modular PRVKE, with extra space for landscape photographers, enthusiasts and professional creators who lug around larger setups and more personal items. It’s compatible with the Deep versions of both the Essential and Pro cubes, with enough room to pack clothing, drones, and hybrid equipment. The extended depth and extra weight make this backpack ideal for bigger jobs and longer adventures.

Best for: Landscape and travel photographers, production team members, professional shoots

Photography bundle: Includes Essential Deep Camera Cube

Example use case: Tom is an outdoor photographer who takes the PRVKE 41L and Pro Deep Cube on UK and international trips, packing a full-frame mirrorless, square filter system, a drone, accessories, and warm layers.

PRVKE 2025 Colours

Wandrd bags have always stood out with unique, stylish colour options, and more choices than typical black-only bags. With new Rhone Burgundy and Atacama Clay added for 2025, every model (except the 41L) is available in a colour that reflects your personality and style. It’s worth noting that Wandrd doesn’t always replenish bags once a colour has sold out, so if you have your eye on something other than black, best to pounce before they’re gone.

Meet the New Wandrd PRVKE 15L

The new Wandrd PRVKE 15L replaces the PRVKE Lite for 2025, bringing a more refined look and feel to the smallest backpack in the line-up. While the 21L, 31L and 41L versions use modular camera cubes, the 15L has a built-in padded cube, making it a more compact and ready-to-go Wandrd camera bag for photographers who want less faff.

Despite the smaller size, this is a deceptively roomy bag, which is capable of holding a mirrorless or small DSLR setup with extra space for accessories, a laptop and tablet, plus small personal items. Wandrd has carried over all of the V4 updates, including colour-matched roll-tops and straps, a wider side access opening, and a zip into the roll-top for faster access.

There’s still great internal organisation, a clamshell opening, hidden passport pocket, expandable bottle holder, and magnetic tote handles. And because it’s Wandrd, the weather-resistant design and lifetime guarantee are still part of the package.

If you want a streamlined, everyday camera bag without having to think about removing cubes or changing anything, the PRVKE 15L is an excellent alternative to the modular models.

Wandrd Camera Cubes Explained

One of the key reasons why the Wandrd PRVKE camera bags are so versatile is their modular cube system. The updated range includes six Camera Cube V2 options, offering protection and organisation for everything from a compact mirrorless kit to a full-frame video setup with drone or gimbal. Essential cubes fill half of the bag, whereas pro cubes fill the entire bag.

These cubes fit into the 21L, 31L or 41L PRVKE bags (depending on size) and are also compatible with the FERNWEH backpack.

Each camera cube now has a soft grey interior to help you spot smaller gear, modular padded dividers for a custom layout, and weather-resistant zip access. Most include front and side access points so you can grab your camera using side backpack access.

Here’s a quick table comparison to help you choose which you need:

Not everyone carries a camera every day. The EDC 15 is a new backpack / tote bag for commuters, students, and travellers who want the build quality of Wandrd without bringing any photo gear. With no camera cube compatibility, the main space is free for daily essentials. It still includes a laptop sleeve, organiser pockets, and hidden passport compartment.

Best for: Commuters, students, general travel

Photography bundle: N/A

Example use case: Isabella commutes across London and uses the PRVKE EDC 15 to carry a laptop, gym clothes, and lunch, with easy organisation and a smart design that works at the office.

Best Wandrd PRVKE Accessories

The PRVKE is part of a modular system, and flexibility comes from a range of accessories that extend how a bag can be used.

Accessory Straps

These durable, adjustable straps are included in photography bundles and can be used to attach tripods, jackets, sleeping bags, tripods or other gear to the outside of your backpack. They thread into the PRVKE’s anchor loops for a secure, streamlined fit, and come in a variety of colours as comprehensive as the bag colours, so you can mix and match. they the Standard Accessory Straps in black or the Premium Accessory Strap in Camo for a taste of what’s available.

Tech Pouches

Available in multiple sizes, Wandrd’s Tech Pouches are ideal for organising cables, chargers, batteries, SD cards and hard drives. They integrate neatly with your PRVKE or EDC, with grab handles and mesh dividers inside for quick access, and also come in various colours, like the Tech Pouch Large Aegean Blue or Tech Bag Medium Wasatch Green.

Packing cubes

When you want to maximise space in your backpack or keep personal items and clothing especially tidy you can buy a range of packing cubes. These are all included in the WANDRD Packing Cube Bundle or you can get each of them individually.

Rain Cover

Although all Wandrd bags are made from weather-resistant materials, an optional camera bag rain cover gives full protection in extreme weather. It packs down small and is easy to stash in one of the outer pockets until needed. Try the Wandrd Rainfly (medium) if you’re heading somewhere guaranteed to be wet!

Waist Straps

Removable and padded waist straps and tracking belts are available for users who carry heavier setups and need more support. They take pressure off your shoulders and help stabilise the bag for hiking, travel or longer days out with more equipment. These WANDRD Waist Straps are a great starting point for most of the models.

Each accessory lets you tailor your Wandrd bag to suit your kit and lifestyle. Take a rummage through our line of camera bag accessories to find exactly what you need for your next trip.
