The Samyang AF 35mm f/1.8 FE prime lens for Sony E-mount joins ‘Tiny Series’ lenses such as the recent AF 75mm f/1.8 FE. This range has received wide praise for their extremely compact size, tenacious autofocus capabilities as well as fast aperture, ideal for low light situations. The latest 35mm prime also boasts these features for full-frame and APS-C mirrorless Sony cameras, weighing just 210g and measuring 63.5mm in length. The 35mm lens presents photographers and videographers with a highly popular focal width suitable for a broad range of subjects from portraits to documentary as well as food photography, city, street and even landscapes.
10 elements are arranged into 8 groups and include aspherical and high refractive glass, which deliver edge to edge sharpness even at the fastest f/1.8 aperture. Samyang’s newly developed Linear STM (Stepping Motor) ensures fast, quiet and accurate AF with excellent tracking for both videos and stills. A 9-blade circular aperture renders beautiful bokeh with smooth out of focus backgrounds, ideal for portraits and subject isolation. Outdoor users benefit from comprehensive weather sealing, giving protection from dust, light rain and even snow. As is customary with Samyang lenses, this model is also equipped with a custom switch which can be tailored to the users needs.

Samyang continues to develop highly compelling lenses for Sony E-mount cameras as is demonstrated with this latest AF 35mm f/1.8 FE prime. The new model provides photographers and videographers with consistently high quality results which belie the compact size and lightweight form. 35mm is a timeless focal width favoured by many working across a range of genres, due to the slightly wide, yet realistic images which can be captured at this width.Travel has never been easier with primes such as this either, which weights just a hair over 200g. making for the ideal partner on any excursions.
The fast and quiet STM motor is ideal for pairing with Sony systems and also tracks subjects admirably. The quiet operation ensures videographers can rely on the AF for their movies without hearing the sound of the motor hunting. Topping off the high number of compelling features is Samyang’s regular firmware updates for their lenses. These add to existing features such as extending the capabilities of custom buttons, ensuring users benefit from technical developments as they are added. Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
