This combo pairs a 537 g body with a 125 g pancake prime lens, creating the slimmest full-frame combination in the range, with barely anything protruding from the front. The 26mm perspective is wide enough to take in your surroundings while still feeling natural for people, places and everyday moments, encouraging you to move, compose and react rather than rely on a zoom.

A bright f/2.8 aperture adds more freedom as the light falls and creates opportunities for softer backgrounds at closer distances. Small, discreet and refreshingly simple, this is the kit for heading out with very little between you and the picture.

Slim pancake prime

At just 125 g and approximately 23.5 mm long, the included pancake prime barely changes the compact profile of the camera. Its moderately wide perspective works naturally for street scenes, travel, environmental portraits and everyday photography, while the f/2.8 maximum aperture provides useful scope in lower light and for separating closer subjects from their surroundings.

Focus as close as 0.2 m for details and more intimate compositions, with up to 0.19x magnification. A 52 mm filter thread provides plenty of choice for commonly available filters, while the supplied HB-111 hood helps protect the front of the optic as well as shielding it from stray light.

Full-frame quality in any light

The 24.5MP FX-format sensor captures detailed stills with manageable file sizes, while EXPEED 7 processing applies intelligent noise reduction to retain textures and detail as sensitivity rises. An ISO range of 100–64,000 for stills and up to 51,200 for video brings plenty of flexibility as the light fades, with RAW, JPEG and HEIF formats for editing, sharing and efficient storage.

Intelligent AF for more subjects

Subject detection recognises 10 types of subject, covering an unusually broad mix of people, wildlife and transport:

Nikon’s Small Subject Detection can recognise objects occupying just 3% of the frame, helping maintain focus on distant wildlife, aircraft and other small details within a wider composition. Autofocus also operates down to -10 EV for confident detection and tracking in extremely low light.

Sharper handheld shots with 5-axis VR

5-axis in-body VR compensates for camera movement by up to 7.5 stops at the centre of the frame and 6.0 stops towards the periphery, giving you more freedom to work handheld at slower shutter speeds and in lower light. Focus Point VR concentrates the stabilisation effect around the active focus point, while in-body correction also benefits lenses without their own optical VR.

Catch the moment with up to 30 fps bursts

Keep pace with spontaneous action using continuous shooting at up to 14 fps in CH+ with the electronic front-curtain shutter, or switch to C30 for bursts at up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter. From energetic pets and wildlife to sport and everyday moments, there is plenty of speed for subjects that refuse to stay still.

Creative freedom with 4K video

Capture detailed 4K/30p footage or step up to cropped 4K/60p for smoother movement, with Full HD up to 120p adding slow-motion possibilities. N-RAW, N-Log and HLG provide more flexibility for advanced recording and grading, while the vari-angle screen, external stereo microphone input and headphone connection support everything from self-recording to more considered productions.

Compose clearly from every angle

A bright 3.69M-dot electronic viewfinder reaches 3000 cd/m² for a clear view when shooting outdoors, while the 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen makes high, low and front-facing compositions easy to frame. Move naturally between traditional eye-level photography, creative angles and self-recorded video as the subject demands.

Make every shot your own

15 scene modes make it easy to move beyond Auto, with ready-made settings for subjects and conditions including sunsets, neon nightscapes, pets and food. Nikon Imaging Cloud adds even more ways to experiment, with Imaging Recipes from Nikon, RED and participating creators available to import directly for fresh looks without relying on post-production.

The flat-top design keeps the profile compact, while the shaped grip provides a secure hold without adding unnecessary size. A magnesium-alloy frame combines low weight with a robust structure, and sealing against dust and moisture adds reassurance for everyday adventures and shooting outdoors.
