Camera Sliders
A camera slider is used when making a video or time lapse to capture smooth video motion across a scene. Your camera is mounted onto sliding metal rails, which then moves smoothly across the length whilst shooting. Sliders are extremely popular with Youtube content creators and pro video shooters as this simple tool adds a subtle and professional layer of motion to any scene.
Sliders are available in a range of sizes from mini versions around 60cm to over 1.5m long and are used for indoor and outdoor photography. Product photographers will often use them for innovative product shots. Buying a complete kit is a great way to include automation into your photography in a comprehensive easy to use format.
A set of bracketed tracks can be mounted to either a set of tripod legs or a light stand. The slider has a movable ‘carriage’ that attached directly to your camera, or you can attach a tripod head between your camera and the carriage for more panning and angle options. Sliders can be used with any type of camera, from DSLR to mirrorless and micro four thirds.
Browse our stock for a wide range of camera sliders, designed to meet a multitude of video uses. Shorter models are ideal for table-top videography, such as food shoots or macro video. Longer variations and extra long sliders allow you to capture a longer shot covering more of any particular scene. The Syrp system has been developed for precision control and can be programmed to shoot over much longer distances.
