Leica has announced a comprehensive firmware rollout for its SL3 camera range. Going live worldwide on 25 June 2026 at 2:00 PM BST, the update introduces professional video tools, expanded autofocus capabilities, and support for new optics.

There are two update versions: v4.2.0 for the SL3 and SL3-S, and v4.2.1 which ships with the newly released SL3-P.

Leica recommends updating via the Leica FOTOS app for the smoothest process. Alternatively, you can download the firmware files directly from the Leica Support Website and install them yourself.
Ensure your camera battery is charged to 100% before starting. A loss of power during a firmware flash can cause issues. Backup your camera settings and profiles before running the update.
