The appeal of this body lies in bringing exceptionally high resolution into a form that can comfortably leave the studio. Its 102MP sensor captures the fine detail and broad tonal information expected from the GFX system, while ISO 80, 16-bit RAW and Pixel Shift Multi-Shot provide considerable scope for landscape, portrait, architecture, artwork reproduction and commercial photography.

In More Detail
Unrivalled image quality
This model exceptional image quality thanks to the combination of upgraded X-Processor 5 and 102 megapixel BSI CMOS II Sensor. Measuring 44 x 33mm, the medium format sensor is approximately 1.7x larger than a full-frame sensor, and features wide dynamic range for processing, plus broader on-sensor phase detection AF coverage.
Among the many benefits these core components provide for photographers are a lower native ISO 80 for smooth, clean images, and faster 7fps continuous burst shooting. It also supports HEIF files with better compression and higher image quality than JPEG, and you can capture 16-Bit RAW images, and 10-Bit RAW video files in-camera.

G Mount lens compatibility
The large CMOS sensor works in conjunction with ultra high-resolving G Mount lenses in order to reproduce images with incredible detail, ultra-smooth gradations, and delightfully accurate colours. There are numerous options, including the recently released Fujifilm GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens, which is the first telephoto for the system to offer an equivalent 396mm (full-frame format).
Along with standard, portrait lenses and zooms are specialist models, which include the GF 110mm F/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro Lens and GF 30mm F/5.6 Tilt Shift Lens, both of which are designed to combine premium optical performance with perspective control.
You can shoot using renowned Fuji Film Simulation Modes, which render heritage-inspired Film styles, drawing on decades of colour science to deliver beautiful results with little to no editing requirements.
20 Film Simulation Modes
The brand's heritage in colour science has been extended to encompass 20 Film Simulation Modes, which are all available in-body. The addition of the REALA ACE recipe, offers a slightly reduced saturation and similar tonality to PRO Neg. Std, which is suitable for everyday use.

Image Processing Engine
X-Processor 5 takes shootingspeed, colour scienceand image processingto a whole new level, while effectively reducing power consumption by around 20%. This enables it to provide a professional shooting experience with quick start-up times, a fast EVF refresh rate, high speed burst shooting and shutter speeds as fast as 1/32,000 second in electronic shutter mode. The outcome is a compact hand-holdable medium format camera, with outstanding imaging potential, which caters to any creative requirement.
Enhanced AF performance
Along with wide sensor coverage featuring 425 phase-detection AF points, it boasts an updated autofocus algorithm, which is faster and more accurate than its predecessor. X-Processor 5 introduces subject detection AF, enhancing autofocus performance through deep-learning AI technology.
The advanced AF system is now capable of accurately recognising and tracking not only human faces and eyes, but also animals, birds, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains. This feature allows photographers to focus on their creative vision, with the certainty that more precise autofocus acheives excellent results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a good choice for studio and product photography?
Yes. The combination of high resolution, 16-bit RAW capture and broad tonal information is particularly useful for product, still life, fashion and portrait photography, where fine detail and extensive post-production flexibility may be required.
How does image quality compare with a high-resolution full-frame camera?
The larger sensor provides considerable scope for fine detail, tonal gradation and shallow depth of field, particularly when paired with high-quality GF lenses. High-resolution full-frame systems can offer excellent image quality too, while often providing advantages in speed, size and lens choice, so the better format depends on the type of photography involved.
Is autofocus suitable for moving subjects?
Yes. Subject detection and tracking make moving subjects considerably more practical than with earlier generations, extending its usefulness to wildlife and other less predictable photography. However, photographers who primarily shoot fast sport and action may still prefer a camera built around higher continuous shooting speeds.
Does it support tethered shooting for studio work?
Yes. Tethered capture is supported for studio workflows, allowing images to be transferred to a computer for larger-screen review, focus checking and collaborative assessment during a shoot.
