Product Summary
This kit provides a particularly portable entry into the GF system, pairing the high-resolution body with one of its smallest zoom lenses. The included 35-70mm covers approximately 28-55mm in full-frame terms, spanning useful wide-angle through to standard perspectives for landscapes, travel, architecture, environmental portraits and everyday photography.
At just 390g, the collapsible zoom complements the relatively compact camera particularly well. Its variable f/4.5-5.6 aperture prioritises size and portability rather than low-light performance or shallow depth of field, while weather-resistant construction makes the combination well suited to working outdoors. The camera’s in-body stabilisation also means the lens does not require its own optical stabilisation system.
For photographers moving into medium format, this provides a versatile starting point without immediately requiring several GF lenses. The zoom can cover a broad range of general photography while leaving specialist primes, wider lenses or telephotos to be added as individual requirements develop.
Fujifilm GFX 100S II Medium Format Mirrorless Camera Body in More Detail
Unrivalled image quality
The Fujifilm GFX 100S II camera delivers exceptional image quality thanks to the combination of upgraded X-Processor 5 and 102 megapixel BSI CMOS II Sensor. Measuring 44 x 33mm, the medium format sensor is approximately 1.7x larger than a full-frame sensor, and features wide dynamic range for processing, plus broader on-sensor phase detection AF coverage.
Among the many benefits these core components provide for photographers are a lower native ISO 80 for smooth, clean images, and faster 7fps continuous burst shooting. The second-generation camera also supports HEIF files with better compression and higher image quality than JPEG, and you can capture 16-Bit RAW images, and 10-Bit RAW video files in-camera.

G Mount lens compatibility
The large CMOS sensor works in conjunction with ultra high-resolving G Mount lenses in order to reproduce images with incredible detail, ultra-smooth gradations, and delightfully accurate colours. There are numerous options, including the recently released Fujifilm GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens, which is the first telephoto for the GFX system to offer an equivalent 396mm (full-frame format).
Along with standard, portrait lenses and zooms are specialist models, which include the GF 110mm F/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro Lens and GF 30mm F/5.6 Tilt Shift Lens, both of which are designed to combine premium optical performance with perspective control.
You can also shoot using renowned Fuji Film Simulation Modes, which render heritage-inspired Film styles straight out of camera, drawing on decades of colour science to deliver beautiful results with little to no editing requirements.
20 Film Simulation Modes
Fuji’s rich heritage in colour science has been extended to encompass 20 Film Simulation Modes, which are all available for the GFX 100S II. The addition of the REALA ACE recipe, offers a slightly reduced saturation and similar tonality to PRO Neg. Std, which is suitable for everyday use.

Image Processing Engine
X-Processor 5 takes shootingspeed, colour scienceand image processingto a whole new level, while effectively reducing power consumption by around 20%. This enables the GFX 100S II to provide a professional shooting experience with quick start-up times, a fast EVF refresh rate, high speed burst shooting and shutter speeds as fast as 1/32,000 second in electronic shutter mode. The outcome is a compact hand-holdable medium format camera, with outstanding imaging potential, which caters to any creative requirement.
Enhanced AF performance
Along with wide sensor coverage featuring 425 phase-detection AF points, the GFX 100S II boasts an updated autofocus algorithm, which is faster and more accurate than its predecessor. X-Processor 5 introduces subject detection AF, enhancing autofocus performance through deep-learning AI technology.
The advanced AF system is now capable of accurately recognising and tracking not only human faces and eyes, but also animals, birds, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains. This feature allows photographers to focus on their creative vision, with the certainty that the camera delivers more precise autofocus results than ever before.

GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 WR Lens Summary
The GF35-70mm is a compact and lightweight large-format zoom lens that weighs just 390g and has the filter thread size of 62mm despite covering versatile focal lengths at high resolution and delivering high-speed AF performance. It would not weigh one down even when used as a walkaround lens for snapshots, enabling casual hand-held shooting. The retractable barrel structure reduces the length to approximately 73.9mm when fully collapsed for added portability, making it a perfect lens to carry when traveling.
The compact and lightweight focusing elements are driven with a stepping motor for silent, fast and highly-accurate AF performance, attaining focus on a subject smoothly to seize photo opportunities. The lens offers the minimum working distance of 35cm across its zoom range, enabling a close-up shot of a subject approximately 25cm from the front-most element of the lens. This gives the lens the ability to cater to a variety of situations at a preferred angle of view, from tabletop photography to snapshots, portraiture, and landscape photography.
The lens has a dust- and moisture-resistant construction and can operate at temperatures as low as -10?, ruggedized enough for this versatility so that users can click away in all conditions, unaffected by rain. The GF35-70mm is a new-concept portable zoom for the GFX Series, combining excellent versatility with mobility and portability.
Lens in detail
Versatile 28-55mm Equivalent Range
The 35-70mm focal range is equivalent to approximately 28-55mm in full-frame terms, covering wide-angle through to standard perspectives. This makes it useful for landscapes, travel, street photography, environmental portraits and everyday subjects.
A minimum focusing distance of 35cm allows subjects to be photographed from approximately 25cm in front of the lens, adding useful close-up capability for details and smaller subjects.
High-Resolution Optical Design
The optical construction comprises 11 elements in nine groups, including one aspherical and two ED elements. These help control spherical and chromatic aberrations while maintaining the fine detail required by high-resolution GFX cameras, including towards the wider end of the zoom range.
Compact Collapsible Design
Despite covering a large-format sensor, the lens weighs approximately 390g and retracts to just 73.9mm long for transport. It measures 96.4mm at the wide end and 95.7mm at the telephoto end, with a 62mm filter thread.
The collapsible construction is particularly useful for travel and location photography, keeping the overall kit considerably more manageable when packed away.
Fast and Quiet Autofocus
Lightweight focusing elements are driven by a stepping motor for quick, accurate and quiet autofocus. Face and Eye Detection AF are supported with compatible cameras, while low focusing noise also makes the lens suitable for video recording.
Weather-Resistant Construction
Nine sealed areas provide resistance against dust and moisture, with operation supported at temperatures down to -10°C. This complements weather-resistant GFX bodies for greater confidence when working outdoors in challenging conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use other GF lenses with this camera?
Yes. It uses the Fujifilm G mount and accepts GF lenses, allowing the included zoom to be supplemented with wider, longer or faster options as requirements develop.
Do lenses need to resolve enough detail for such a high-resolution sensor?
Lens quality becomes increasingly important as sensor resolution rises. GF lenses are developed for the larger sensor format and high resolving requirements of the system, helping preserve fine detail across high-resolution files.
Can adapted lenses be used?
Yes, various third-party adapters allow compatible lenses from other systems to be mounted. Functionality varies considerably depending on the lens and adapter, however, and native GF lenses provide the most straightforward access to autofocus, electronic communication and other supported features.
Would a prime lens provide better results than the included zoom?
Not necessarily. The included zoom prioritises versatility and portability, while faster GF primes can provide wider apertures for lower-light photography and greater control over depth of field. The better choice depends on whether convenience or a particular optical characteristic is more important.
