Product Summary

Get more from your Fujifilm mirrorless camera with a lightweight standard zoom that brings greater flexibility to everyday photography. From wide landscapes and street scenes to portraits and close-up details, the Tamron 16-50mm F2.8 A covers a practical 24-75mm equivalent range, with a bright constant aperture for beautiful background separation and low-light creativity.

At just 305 g and 79.9 mm long, it makes an appealing upgrade from a standard kit zoom without adding unnecessary bulk. Fast, quiet VXD linear motor autofocus, close focusing down to 15 cm and moisture-resistant construction deliver the versatility to capture spontaneous moments, travel adventures and everyday video.

Start Wider at 16mm

A 16mm starting point means more of the scene fits in the frame, which suits landscapes, architecture, interiors and group portraits. At the 50mm end, the perspective is flattering for portraits and tighter details.

This makes the lens a natural walkaround choice for travel, family photography and creative projects.

F2.8 from Wide to Tele

Because the maximum aperture stays at F2.8 throughout the zoom range, exposure and depth of field remain consistent as you zoom. Isolate a subject with attractive background blur, keep shutter speeds higher indoors and carry on shooting as the light fades.

A seven-blade circular diaphragm helps render smooth, pleasing bokeh, while the 14-element, 10-group optical construction supports detailed rendering across the frame.

VXD Autofocus for Moving Subjects

The linear motor delivers fast, precise focusing. Responsive tracking helps you keep up with children, pets and everyday action.

Smooth, Quiet Focusing for Video

Near-silent autofocus helps minimise distracting motor noise when recording, while responsive tracking keeps pace with moving subjects. The compact, lightweight construction also makes handheld shooting more comfortable.

Close-Up Capability

Get in close without changing lenses. At 16mm, the minimum focusing distance is just 15 cm, with a maximum magnification of 1:4.5, ideal for flowers, food, textures and small everyday subjects.

At 50mm, the minimum focusing distance is 29 cm with 1:4.8 magnification, giving you room to compose tighter detail shots.

Compact Enough to Take Everywhere

With a maximum diameter of 64.4 mm, this zoom keeps your camera setup balanced and easy to carry all day, whether you are exploring a city or travelling with minimal kit.

Built for Shooting Outdoors

Moisture-resistant construction adds reassurance when conditions are less than perfect. The fluorine coating on the front element helps repel fingerprints, moisture and dirt, making it easier to keep clean.

The supplied front cap also features a strap attachment hole, helping prevent it from being lost when shooting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Nikon cameras is it compatible with?

It is made for Nikon Z-mount DX mirrorless cameras, including the Z50, Z50 II, Z fc and Z30. Autofocus features and performance may vary by camera model.

Can I use it on a full-frame Nikon Z camera?

What does the A in the name mean?

Does it have built-in image stabilisation?

No. Stabilisation depends on your camera body, which may offer in-body or electronic stabilisation.

Can I focus manually?

Yes. Manual focusing gives you precise control for close-up photography and creative focus adjustments when recording video.

What size filters does it take?

It accepts 55 mm screw-in filters, including compatible polarisers, neutral density and UV filters.
