Product Summary

The Conquest Apia 65 Straight is a compact, robust spotting scope built to be carried into the field. At just 1,344 g, it is quick to bring onto a subject and easy to travel with. ZEISS optics deliver a bright, wide, finely resolved image, while fast controls and simple tripod mounting keep it intuitive when subjects don’t stay still. Small enough to go anywhere, capable enough for serious observation.

Sharp From Centre To Edge

The ZEISS HD optical concept brings distant subjects into crisp, natural view. ED glass controls chromatic aberration, while aspherical elements correct other optical aberrations. FieldFlattener technology keeps resolution high towards the edges, so detail holds across more of the image, not just the centre. ZEISS Tmulti-coating maximises light transmission, supported by multi-layer coated, phase-corrected roof prisms for high resolution and contrast. LotuTec on the external surfaces repels water, dirt and fingerprints, keeping the view clean outdoors.

Find Subjects Quickly, Then Move In

The 20-50x range gives you both overview and close study. Start at 20x with a generous 48 m field of view at 1,000 m to locate and follow subjects, then zoom smoothly to 50x (27 m) to pick out plumage, markings and fine texture. ZEISS chose a 2.5x zoom range to balance magnification against size, field of view and viewing comfort. The result is a 54°-71° subjective viewing angle that feels immersive throughout the range.

Fast Focus When The Subject Moves

Large, raised focus and zoom wheels are quick and positive to use, even with gloves. Focus runs from close range to infinity in about 1.2 turns, and the full zoom range takes roughly 0.3 turns, fast yet precise. The supplied Throw Lever fits onto the zoom wheel for an even more immediate grip when changing magnification, and acts as a turning aid on this straight model. The forward position of the focus wheel leaves room for a natural hand position.

Built To Travel

Aluminium and magnesium components with protective rubber armouring provide durability without bulk. Nitrogen filling helps prevent internal fogging, while waterproof construction protects the scope in challenging weather. It is rated for operation from -25°C to +50°C. A minimalist tripod base keeps the profile slim when packed or used handheld. When you need support, the supplied removable Arca-Swiss adapter attaches to the base for secure tripod mounting, with 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch compatibility widening your choice of tripod equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I Choose The Straight Or Angled Version?

Choose straight if you value a slim profile, straightforward aiming and the option to use it handheld. Angled is better suited to tripod-based observation and allows the body to rotate around its tripod foot for more flexible viewing positions.

Is 65 mm Enough For Dawn And Dusk?

The objective combines good light transmission with lower size and weight. If low-light observation is a priority, the larger 85 mm option gathers more light, but adds bulk and weight.

Do I Need A Tripod?

Not necessarily. It can be used handheld, although support provides a steadier view, particularly at higher magnifications. The removable Arca-Swiss adapter mounts directly to compatible heads, with 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch compatibility.

Is The Zoom Eyepiece Included?

Yes. The Vario eyepiece is included and provides the full 20-50x magnification range.

Which Accessories Are Available?

The S2 Digiscoping Eyepiece Adapter supports digiscoping through the zoom eyepiece, while a dedicated Stay-on Case provides protection with access to the controls.

What Warranty Is Included?

A 10-year global warranty from the date of purchase.
