Product Summary

The Conquest Apia 85 Angled pairs an 85 mm objective with the compact thinking behind the Apia family, adding light-gathering power and 24-60x reach without excess bulk. At 1,772 g and 333 mm long, it stays portable, while the angled body and rotatable tripod foot suit long sessions from stable support. ZEISS optics deliver a bright, wide, finely resolved image, and fast controls make it easy to go from locating a subject to studying it. Serious reach and light-gathering from first light onwards.

Sharp From Centre To Edge

The ZEISS HD optical concept delivers a crisp, natural image, with the 85 mm objective gathering more light as conditions become challenging. ED glass controls chromatic aberration, aspherical elements correct other optical aberrations, and FieldFlattener technology keeps resolution high towards the edges. ZEISS Tmulti-coating delivers 86% light transmission, supported by multi-layer coated, phase-corrected roof prisms for resolution and contrast. LotuTec on the external surfaces repels water, dirt and fingerprints.

Find Subjects Quickly, Then Move In

Scan at 24x with a 40 m field of view at 1,000 m to locate and follow subjects, then zoom to 60x (23 m) for plumage, markings and fine detail. The 2.5x zoom range balances magnification against size, field of view and comfort, and the 54°-71° subjective viewing angle keeps the view immersive throughout.

Fast Control From Behind The Scope

Large, raised focus and zoom wheels are easy to find, even with gloves. Focus runs from close range to infinity in about 1.2 turns, and the full zoom range takes roughly 0.3 turns, quick yet precise. The supplied Throw Lever lets you operate focus and zoom with one hand without moving your fingers from the focus wheel, so you can react quickly with minimal movement.

Made For Stable, Comfortable Observation

The angled body is optimised for tripod use, with space between the tripod head and focus wheel for comfortable operation. The Arca-Swiss compatible foot rotates around the body, so you can reposition the eyepiece without moving the tripod. Aluminium and magnesium construction with rubber armouring balances durability, portability and grip. Nitrogen filling helps prevent internal fogging, and the scope is watertight to 200 mbar (2 m) with an operating range of -25°C to +50°C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I Choose Angled Or Straight?

Angled is well suited to extended tripod-based observation, with a rotatable foot for changing the eyepiece position. Straight provides a direct line of sight and a slimmer profile for carrying and storage.

What Does The 85 mm Gain Over The 65?

The larger objective gathers more light in challenging conditions, while the 24-60x range provides greater magnification for distant detail. The 65 mm option is smaller and lighter when portability comes first.

Do I Need A Tripod?

A tripod is recommended for extended observation and provides a steadier view at higher magnifications. The Arca-Swiss compatible foot mounts directly to suitable heads, so no separate adapter is required.

Is The Zoom Eyepiece Included?

Yes. The Vario eyepiece is included and provides the full 24-60x magnification range.

Which Accessories Are Available?

A dedicated Stay-on Case, MRAD and MOA reticle eyepieces, and the S2 Digiscoping Eyepiece Adapter are available separately.

What Warranty Is Included?

A 10-year global warranty from the date of purchase.
