Product Summary
The Conquest Apia 85 Straight packs serious reach and light-gathering into a streamlined body that is easy to aim and carry. The 85 mm objective and 24-60x range provide the power for detailed observation, while the straight viewing path gets you onto distant subjects quickly. At 1,758 g, with a minimalist tripod base and removable Arca-Swiss adapter, it packs down neatly. ZEISS optics deliver a bright, wide, finely resolved image, and fast controls keep pace when wildlife is on the move.
Sharp From Centre To Edge
The ZEISS HD optical concept delivers a crisp, natural image, with the 85 mm objective gathering plenty of light in challenging conditions. ED glass controls chromatic aberration, aspherical elements correct other optical aberrations, and FieldFlattener technology keeps resolution high towards the edges. ZEISS T* multi-coating supports 84% light transmission, with multi-layer coated, phase-corrected roof prisms adding resolution and contrast. LotuTec on the external surfaces repels water, dirt and fingerprints.
Find Subjects Quickly, Then Move In
Scan at 24x with a 40 m field of view at 1,000 m to locate and follow subjects, then zoom to 60x (23 m) for plumage, markings and fine detail. The 2.5x zoom range balances magnification against size, field of view and comfort, and the 54°-71° subjective viewing angle keeps the view immersive throughout.
Fast, Direct Control
Large, raised focus and zoom wheels are easy to find, even with gloves. Focus runs from close range to infinity in about 1.2 turns, and the full zoom range takes roughly 0.3 turns, quick yet precise. The supplied Throw Lever gives a positive grip on the zoom wheel for rapid magnification changes.
A Slimmer Approach To The 85
The minimalist tripod base keeps the body streamlined for carrying and storage. When support is needed, the supplied removable Arca-Swiss adapter attaches securely beneath the scope, with 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch compatibility for a wide range of tripod equipment. Aluminium and magnesium construction with rubber armouring balances durability, portability and grip. Nitrogen filling helps prevent internal fogging, and the scope is watertight to 200 mbar (2 m) with an operating range of -25°C to +50°C.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight Or Angled: Which is Best
Choose straight for a direct line of sight, straightforward aiming and a slimmer profile for carrying and storage. Angled is optimised for tripod-based observation, with a rotatable foot for adjusting the eyepiece position without repositioning the tripod.
What Does The 85 mm Gain Over The 65?
The larger objective gathers more light in challenging conditions, while the 24-60x range provides greater magnification for distant detail. The 65 mm option is smaller and lighter when portability comes first.
Do I Need A Tripod?
Not necessarily, although support provides a steadier view for extended observation and at higher magnifications. The removable Arca-Swiss adapter mounts directly to compatible heads, with a 3/8-inch thread and 1/4-inch reducer for broader compatibility.
Is The Zoom Eyepiece Included?
Yes. The Vario eyepiece is included and provides the full 24-60x range.
Which Accessories Are Available?
A dedicated Stay-on Case, MRAD and MOA reticle eyepieces, and the S2 Digiscoping Eyepiece Adapter are available separately.
What Warranty Is Included?
A 10-year global warranty from the date of purchase.
